Job PurposeAs a Lead Program Manager, you will be responsible for direct oversight and management of projects for the Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) department to maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental requirements.
Key Accountabilities- Promote and implement procedural best practices to ensure all project activities are performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
- Manage complex SIR projects from investigation through remedy implementation.
- Ensure all remediation plans and activities are conducted in compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Water Act).
- Oversee the implementation of remediation activities such as soil excavation, groundwater extraction, vapor mitigation, on-site treatment processes, and dredging.
- Routinely interface with regulators at the local, state, and federal level.
- Responsible for providing technical support to other National Grid departments (i.e. Community, Legal, Real Estate, Electric Operations, Gas Operations).
- Manage a team of environmental contractors and consultants and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Monitor and control a wide range of projects while maintaining financial and progress forecasting to ensure efficient and cost-effective implementation.
- Must have a high degree of organizational and communication skills.
- Ensure projects comply with internal and external safety standards, policies and processes and comply with applicable environmental laws, regulations and approved work plans.
- Responsible for project-specific financial reporting to track budget spend and ensure effective financial management.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific disciplines (Geology, Environmental Science, etc.) or Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related engineering disciplines. Master's Degree a plus.
- 10+ years of professional development within a related area.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to attain one within 2 years of joining the company.
- Professional certification or license (i.e., LSP, PE, LEP, CHMM, PG).
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Demonstrated ability to administer complex projects including multi-party sites while managing and updating appropriate budget and financial reporting obligations.
