Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Lead Production Supervisor is responsible for the efficient management of production department operations to achieve plant objectives. This position serves as a transition role between Production Supervisors and the Director of Operations.
The Lead Production Supervisor acts as a leader across all performance areas (SQCDME: safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and environment) for the Receiving, Pasteurization, and Packaging departments. They also act as a coach for the supervisors in their department, ensure cohesion between shifts, and participate in resolving day-to-day issues.

Salary Scale 005: $84,600 to $105,800 (Base salary will be determined according to your academic background, experience, training, and positionrelated competencies.)
Your role in achieving results:
Manage day-to-day operations of the department
Supervise and coach plant technicians and operators
Review Ekhosoft data daily to ensure accuracy and identify trends
Plan workforce based on production schedules and identify efficiency opportunities
Ensure sanitation maintenance and cleanliness standards; notify supervisors of required actions
Conduct floor walks to track production progress
Ensure adherence to production schedules by optimizing labor and costs
Mobilize teams in short-term problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) policies
Contribute to capital investment requests
Act as a coach to Production Supervisors
Assume Director responsibilities in their absence
Follow up on accident investigations and corrective actions
Perform other related duties as required
Maintain quality, food safety, and security standards
What we are looking for to deliver these results:
University or college degree in engineering or related field, combined with relevant management experience
7-10 years managing unionized employees, preferably in the food industry
Knowledge of continuous improvement processes in equipment reliability (strong asset)
Knowledge of Lean tools and problem-solving methods
Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Word and Excel)
Excellent communication skills in both French and English (English required to collaborate with colleagues in other Canadian provinces)
