Full Job Description
The Lead Product Specialist - Heavy Duty / Towing Applications serves as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for assigned heavy-duty product lines, with deep hands-on expertise in product operation, application, and real-world performance. This role leads technical product execution, field validation, and customer application support while acting as the authoritative voice of the customer and end user into Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Product Development. The position combines field-based expertise, technical leadership, and customer-facing influence to ensure products meet market needs, perform as intended, and are effectively supported throughout their lifecycle.

YOUR IMPACT

Product & Application Expertise
  • Serve as the primary Heavy Duty / Towing SME, including rotator and high-capacity recovery equipment.
  • Operate heavy-duty equipment in real-world environments to validate performance, safety, and application suitability.
  • Provide authoritative guidance on towing, lifting, rigging, recovery methods, and equipment capabilities to internal teams, dealers, and customers.

Field Testing & Engineering Support
  • Partner with Engineering to define "jobs to be done," test objectives, and validation criteria for new and existing products.
  • Prepare and execute test procedures, including equipment setup, rigging, structural testing, and field trials.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) initiatives through hands-on testing, evaluation, and performance feedback.
  • Act as a technical advisor during product issue resolution, performance investigations, and improvement initiatives.

Customer, Dealer & Application Support
  • Provide advanced application support to customers and dealers, including troubleshooting, configuration guidance, and performance consultation.
  • Support customer confidence during pre-sale and post-sale engagements through demonstrations, field follow, and application training.
  • Act as a trusted technical liaison between the business and the towing industry.

Training & Knowledge Transfer
  • Develop and deliver end-user and dealer training programs focused on proper application, operation, and safety of heavy-duty equipment.
  • Create training materials, technical guides, and application documentation for internal and external use.
  • Mentor and provide functional leadership to team members and cross-functional partners, acting as a lead worker and technical authority.

Marketing & Industry Alignment
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure technical accuracy, proper application, and industry-relevant language in product messaging, visuals, and content.
  • Support development of demonstration scripts, "how-to" content, and application-focused media.
  • Review customer-facing materials to ensure alignment with real-world use and towing industry standards.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma.
  • 6+ years of experience, with significant experience in heavy-duty equipment, field applications, or industry-specific technical roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and evaluate heavy equipment in real-world environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Pay Range:
$92,600.00 - $154,400.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
