What you'll do - Define Strategy and Vision: Establish a bold long-term product vision and translate it into actionable quarterly roadmaps that align with global organizational goals and local regional needs.
- Lead and Mentor: Build and cultivate a high-performing team culture, providing mentorship to product managers while acting as the "collaborative glue" that inspires Engineering, Design, and Data Science teams.
- Drive Execution: Partner cross-functionally to deliver breakthrough solutions, obsessing over user experience and business impact while maintaining a high bar for engineering quality and speed.
- Master Stakeholder Management: Galvanize technical and business stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership and external partners, to align with your vision and navigate competing priorities.
- Deep Dive into Data: Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights to make strategic trade-offs, solve complex analytical challenges, and identify and address risk trends.
- Remove Roadblocks: Proactively anticipate and eliminate obstacles that prevent the team from delivering on product objectives, ensuring a smooth path for high-velocity experimentation and delivery.
Basic Qualifications - 7 + years of overall professional experience with a proven track record of shipping bold product bets that alter business trajectories.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee comprehensive customer research plans and systematic processes for translating insights into innovative product directions.
- Proven track record of converting unstructured, ambiguous problems into clarifying, focused plans while managing multiple multi-team projects with minimal oversight.
- Strong technical depth: ability to identify technical challenges in advance, align multiple engineering teams, and serve as a trusted partner for Engineering Managers.
- Mastery of experimentation: experience partnering with Data Science to drive strong experimentation practices and prioritize roadmaps in a data-driven manner.
- Highly proficient in UX/UI paradigms: ability to advocate for best-in-class design quality and ensure teams design with a principle-first approach.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical/quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications - Domain Expertise: Experience in Financial Services/Fintech, Online Marketplaces, or Video/Media-focused platforms.
- Strategic Influence: Product judgment that is frequently sought out by teams outside of your immediate product area.
- Operational Excellence: Experience documenting and sharing best practices to help other PMs achieve excellence in roadmap planning and high-quality delivery.
- High-Stakes Leadership: Ability to optimistically keep teams focused on #winning while overcoming significant adversities and limited resources.
- Communication: Experience representing significant work in public forums and to executive leadership to generate alignment and support.
ResponsibilitiesFor New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $216,000 per year - USD $240,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $216,000 per year - USD $240,000 per year.
For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $216,000 per year - USD $240,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
