Job Description

CDM Smith is seeking a Product Management Lead to join our Business Technology team. This role will help drive the firm's digital transformation by defining product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for innovative digital solutions. The Product Management Lead will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to ensure products deliver measurable value and align with organizational priorities. This position is highly business-facing and focused on stakeholder coordination, business process understanding, and translating needs into actionable product outcomes.

Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Digital Enablement, responsibilities include:

Product Strategy, Roadmap & Requirements
  • Define and manage product vision, value proposition, strategy, and roadmap for digital products and solutions.
  • Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and feedback sessions to identify needs, opportunities, and product requirements.
  • Gather, prioritize, and translate business and customer needs into user stories, use cases, and actionable requirements for development teams.
  • Monitor product adoption and performance, making roadmap recommendations based on stakeholder feedback and business objectives.
  • Support the evaluation and incubation of innovative ideas and emerging technologies that advance CDM Smith's digital capabilities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Alignment
  • Partner with stakeholders across business units to understand workflows, priorities, and strategic objectives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment, transparency, and clear communication of priorities.
  • Organize, document, and communicate stakeholder input to enable effective product planning and execution.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and partners to support successful product outcomes.

Agile Delivery, Quality & Risk Management
  • Collaborate with development teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through launch.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery activities.
  • Create and communicate requirement artifacts that translate business needs into executable work.
  • Support product quality through acceptance testing, defect documentation, and collaboration with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate product delivery risks, partnering with leadership and project teams on mitigation strategies.
  • Provide guidance and coordination to product management and quality assurance team members while helping remove cross-functional delivery obstacles.

Product Communications, Launch & Adoption
  • Partner with marketing and communications teams to support product launch plans, adoption strategies, and go-to-market activities.
  • Lead product demonstrations, presentations, and stakeholder communications for both internal and external audiences.
  • Develop communications, presentations, and supporting materials that articulate product value and drive user adoption.
  • Support change management efforts that enable successful implementation and ongoing product engagement.

Team Leadership & Coaching
  • Lead, coach, and support assigned team members, providing guidance, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Coordinate workloads and resources to support high-quality project delivery.
  • Foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Perform people management responsibilities as assigned, including performance feedback and compliance with company policies.

Skills & Abilities

  • Experience managing software products from concept through launch, preferably within SaaS, B2B, AEC, professional services, or technology-enabled environments.
  • Strong knowledge of product management principles, Agile software development practices, and requirements management.
  • Ability to gather, prioritize, and translate stakeholder needs into actionable requirements and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving business, technology, marketing, finance, legal, and operational teams.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with digital engineering, visualization, GIS, analytics, data, AI-enabled products, or related technologies is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and highly collaborative with a focus on delivering business value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 8 years of relevant experience.


Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in an AEC, professional services, B2B technology, or SaaS environment.
  • Experience supporting data, analytics, AI-enabled products, or digital business solutions.
  • Formal training or certification in Product Management, Agile/Scrum, Change Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success managing stakeholder communications, product adoption, and organizational change initiatives.

USD $128,419.00
Pay Range Max

USD $224,723.00
Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
