Position Summary

The Lead Process Specialist will play a critical role in designing, documenting, standardizing, and operationalizing business processes in support of transformation initiatives. This role bridges strategy and execution by translating future-state operating models into detailed, executable processes, facilitating discovery workshops, developing process standards, and driving operational readiness.

The ideal candidate is an experienced process improvement professional who can work across business, operational, and subject matter expert teams to design scalable solutions, establish governance, and support successful implementation and adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Process Translation & Design

  • Translate future-state workflows into executable process and task designs.


  • Define process boundaries, execution steps, decision points, business rules, and dependencies.


  • Convert high-level operational requirements into detailed process documentation.


  • Ensure alignment between target operating models and execution-level processes.


Discovery & Workshop Facilitation

  • Lead process discovery workshops with business stakeholders, SMEs, and operational teams.


  • Document current-state processes, variations, pain points, and process nuances.


  • Facilitate discussions to identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and automation.


  • Build consensus across stakeholders regarding future-state process designs.


Process Analysis & Standardization

  • Analyze current workflows and identify value-added versus non-value-added activities.


  • Develop standardized inputs, outputs, handoffs, quality controls, and process requirements.


  • Create repeatable frameworks and methodologies that can be applied across business functions.


  • Drive consistency across teams, case types, operational groups, and geographic locations.


Solution Design & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process gaps, operational risks, and design challenges.


  • Evaluate alternative approaches and develop recommendations for business sponsors.


  • Lead process design decision-making activities and support governance forums.


  • Partner with technology, operations, and business teams to ensure solutions support business objectives.


Operationalization & Implementation

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process maps, task cards, and supporting documentation.


  • Support implementation activities required to transition process designs into production.


  • Partner with operations and change management teams to ensure process adoption.


  • Provide implementation support, including launch readiness and hypercare activities.


Governance & Issue Management

  • Surface risks, dependencies, assumptions, and design issues proactively.


  • Communicate recommendations and decision requirements to leadership stakeholders.


  • Track open items and facilitate timely resolution of process-related issues.


  • Support governance structures that enable rapid business decision-making.


End-to-End Process Rollout Scope

The consultant will support the full lifecycle of process operationalization, including:

  • Current-state discovery and assessment.


  • Workflow analysis and process optimization.


  • Future-state process design.


  • Development of standardized inputs, checklists, and quality requirements.


  • Stakeholder review, validation, and signoff.


  • Business tool and workflow configuration support.


  • SOP and operational documentation development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Organizational Development, or a related field.


  • 7+ years of experience in process improvement, business transformation, operational excellence, consulting, or business analysis.


  • Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops and leading cross-functional discussions.


  • Experience documenting business processes using process maps, workflows, and standard operating procedures.


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.


  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation, shared services, operational excellence, or process standardization initiatives.


  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Management (BPM), or similar methodologies.
