About the PositionThe
Lead Process Estimator will take ownership of estimating complex water and wastewater treatment projects, with a particular focus on self-performed piping and equipment scopes.
This role requires a strong understanding of process systems and the ability to develop accurate pricing for projects where treatment facilities must remain operational during construction. Approximately
90% of current work is hard bid, while the company is actively expanding its design-build capabilities.
The successful candidate will have a direct influence on how the company prices and wins technically demanding projects while helping shape the development of its design-build practice.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate self-performed piping and equipment scopes for water and wastewater projects.
- Develop bypass strategies and pricing for work involving active process systems.
- Account for costs associated with maintaining plant operations during construction.
- Prepare estimates for hard-bid projects.
- Support design-build pursuits with early-stage pricing and constructability input.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to understand existing systems.
- Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to identify sequencing and operational challenges.
- Develop pricing strategies for phased construction and live-system work.
Requirements- Strong estimating background in process piping and equipment, ideally within water/wastewater treatment.
- Practical understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant operations.
- Experience estimating bypass, phased construction, and work on active/live systems.
- Ability to estimate both hard-bid and design-build projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and constructability.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with field, engineering, project management, and ownership teams.
- Must be located within a reasonable distance of East Central Pennsylvania and able to visit the office approximately once per month.
