Lead mechanical design and development activities and demonstrate start-finish ownership for the assigned projects and tasks. Perform mechanical design (e.g., 3D CAD modeling, FEA structural analysis) of components and assemblies. Develop the technical requirements for and identify components for the designs. Create technical reports and presentations. Perform engineering analysis to define critical design parameters and predict design latitude. Perform lab activities like prototyping and measurement. Collaborate with cross-functional team members such as electrical engineers and lab technicians to successfully develop and validate the designs. Evaluate the designs to meet requirements factoring in performance, size, cost, manufacturability, and reliability. 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of experience in integrating mechanical and electrical components for battery platforms by creating structured 3D CAD assemblies and using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to ensure designs meet requirements. Experience must include: Six (6) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently): • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles. • Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Serviceability. • 3D CAD modeling. • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) structural analysis of components and assemblies. All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process. All candidates will be evaluated based on job-related competencies, and all candidates' privacy rights and data security will be protected in accordance with applicable laws.
