Job Description Summary
As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will help shape manufacturing strategy and execution for critical forging and casting supply chains for aerospace industry. You will be at the center of efforts to improve design producibility, strengthen raw material readiness, assess manufacturing modality, process development with suppliers, and ensure capacity is in place to meet customer and business commitments. This is a high-impact role for a manufacturing engineer who combines hands-on shop knowledge with the ability to lead cross-functional improvements across engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations.

Job Description

We are seeking aLead Manufacturing Engineerto drive manufacturing readiness for raw materials, which includes execution acrossproducibility, capacity planning, process development and raw material delivery from forging and casting supply chains. In this role, you will partner with engineering, sourcing, supplier quality, operations, and customers to improve manufacturability, assess supply capability, and support delivery performance.

This position is ideal for an experienced manufacturing professional with hands-on knowledge offorging and/or casting operationsand practical experience working withforging and/or casting suppliers. The successful candidate will proactively assess hardware and part designs to help determine the most appropriatemanufacturing modality, including forging or casting requirements while balancing producibility, supplier capability, quality, delivery, and capacity considerations.

You will play a key role in identifying manufacturing constraints, improving production flow, supporting raw material strategies, and driving process improvements that advanceSafety, Quality, Delivery, and Costperformance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering efforts to improveproducibilityof part designs across forging and casting supply chains - review designs/drawings to assess manufacturing modality, recommend design changesand determine forging or casting requirements
• Supportraw material strategyfor forgings and castings, including evaluation of supplier capability, process readiness, capacity planning, manufacturing constraints, and supply risk.
• Partner with engineering, sourcing, supplier quality, and operations teams to improve manufacturability and process capability, eliminate bottlenecks and production constraints to improve delivery performance.
• Apply FLIGHT DECK (GE Aerospace proprietary operating system) to performcapacity planning,cycle time analysis,TAKT charts,value stream mapping,structured problem solving and continuous improvements
• Support supplier engagement and travel to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, continuous improvement opportunities and resolving quality non-conformances
• Operate with a high level of ownership and cross-functional collaboration, communicate program status, risks and actions effectively across all functions to support business priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of5 years of manufacturing shop experienceinforging, foundry, and/or castingenvironments including supplier locations
• Knowledge ofGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficiency inMicrosoft Office applications, includingPowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to work independently, with strong sense of ownership and urgency; balance technical, operational and strategic goals. Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple business organizations.
• Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelors Degree accredited college or university in (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing shop experienceinforging, foundry, and/or castingenvironments including supplier locations) + Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing shop experienceinforging, foundry, and/or castingenvironments including supplier locations experience

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace materials, material selection and various manufacturing modalities in castings and forgings.
• Experience in Quality processes including industry standards and solving forforging, foundry, and casting non-conformances.
• Background inmanufacturing lean principles. Experience with capacity planning, value stream mapping, process mapping, mix model mapping, TAKT attainment,
