Full Job Description
Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located at our Middlesex, NC facility. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only.

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will manage multiple large-scale projects within the plant to help meet business objectives such as cost out, safety, productivity, scrap, yield, and Industry 4.0 objectives. In this role, you will work closely with the Engineering Manager to create and execute capital strategy and support engineering functional team members on capital initiatives and day-to-day manufacturing engineer tasks.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.

What you'll do:
• Lead efforts to proactively identify opportunities and drive improvements that positively impact safety, quality, delivery and productivity and cost.
• Proactively identify, create, and manage capital projects to completion. Complete cost justification, appropriation requests and validate factory cost-out.
• Develop technology roadmap and implementation plan to support industry 4.0 objectives.
• Define manufacturing documentation, including operator method sheets (work instructions), standard work, and other instructions.
• Identify and implement new manufacturing processes and methods to reduce cost, enhance safety and improve delivery.
• Launch new products and processes using Pro-Launch and PPAP tools. Create, review and approve product and process change reports necessary to gain customer approval.
• Establish, maintain, and audit Engineering Specifications, Bills of Material, Process Routers, Production Standards, and Process FMEA's for new and existing processes and products.
• Participate with multi-functional product and process development teams to ensure manufacturability through the Pro-Launch process and identify resource needs for the plant, assist in preparing budgets and major appropriation requests.
• Assist in evaluation of potential and existing suppliers and provide support to suppliers as needed.
• Provide day-to-day support for the manufacturing team, including investigating, analyzing and troubleshooting for product design, materials, tooling, equipment, production methods and processes.
• Foster an environment that promotes Eaton's goals and philosophies and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork (e.g. rapid improvement events, 5S+ audits, poka-yoke).
• Maintain a safe working environment. Abide by all safety requirements. Design safety into every process and activity. (e.g. leading Eaton MESH element).
• Follow Eaton code of ethics, harassment free workplace policy, and leadership model to help create a respectful and high performing work environment.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of six (6) years experience in an engineering related position in a manufacturing setting.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience scoping and leading capital projects from start to finish.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience implementing Industry 4.0 tools (e.g. OEE / Automation / Recipe Control / SPC).
• Experience working in the Aerospace Industry.
• Experience using management of change process (MOC).
• Experience in Process Design (DMAIC / X-Y / PFMEA / Process Flow / Control Plan).

Skills:
• Knowledge using PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) to launch new processes and products.
• Proficiency in product data management systems for document control and workflow management (ENOVIA is a plus).
