Full Job Description
General Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and assigning overall duties, policies and procedures within the maintenance department including the use of MMS (Maintenance Management System). Assist production to ensure that all processes are in compliance within the specifications and standards. Provides training and any resources needed within the scope of work.

Essential Functions
• Serves as frontline leader for maintenance personnel thru continuous improvement, using lean manufacturing, world class manufacturing and 5s.
• Assists production to monitor machine productivity, downtime and reduce waste to standards.
• Assigns work tasks to other mechanics, assists maintenance supervisor with scheduling and monitoring workloads.
• Supervises preventive maintenance program and continuously improves program using 5s as a guide, which includes the following activities:
  • 1. Conducts installation of programs and troubleshoots on variable frequency drives (VDPs)
  • 2. Conducts installation of programs and troubleshoots on the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • 3. Installs, operates, maintains, checks and troubleshoots all types of AC and DC electrical along with the mechanical equipment.
  • 4. Conducts disassembling, repairing and reassembling of gear boxes, fans conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all allied mechanical equipment as directed. When related to electrical troubleshooting.
  • 5. Conducts work on oven combustion setup and safety devices by troubleshooting.
  • 6. Conducts work on hydraulic, compressed air systems and reading complex diagrams by troubleshooting on these systems.
  • 7. Conduct 5s audits on a weekly basis: reviewing toolboxes, company provided tools, spare parts room, and assigned areas in the maintenance shop. All tools should be ready for use at all times.
  • 8. Provides weekly feedback (one on one meetings) to mechanics on equipment performance (OEE - Overall equipment Efficiency), PM attainment, 5s performance and personal effort.

• Diagnoses and employs proper procedure of troubleshooting to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary.
• Operates mobile lift truck and hoisting equipment in the performance of maintenance work. Must have forklift operator's license.
• Possesses some knowledge of lubricants for all types of machines and performs necessary lubrication of production machines as directed.
• Uses MMS for ordering parts or services.
• Troubleshoots and repairs food processing and industrial machinery.
• Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork.
• Trains new employees and monitors and evaluates their progress (includes Safety, Preventive Controls & Food Safety); recommends transfers and promotions.
• Fills in for supervisor in absence.
• Works in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements
• Verifies GMP's and Safety standards are maintained at all times and take action and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted
• Consistently applies company rules per employee handbook and per company policies (i.e. attendance, safety, etc.) and ensures safety regulations, policies and procedures are followed
• Monitors schedules, timecards, and prepare all HR - related paperwork, including disciplinary actions, ESNs, Attendance Forms, etc.
• Ensures all food safety principles and legal requirements have been applied effectively
• Other duties, as assigned

3rd shift: 9:30PM - 6AM

*Must be able to work weekends & OT

Hourly Pay: $39.52 - $40.27+ shift differential, OT, Holidays, & Vacation/Sick Pay

Production Lead

Responsible for implementing, coordinating and assigning overall duties, policies and procedures within the production area, ensuring all processes are in compliance within specifications and standards. Maintains daily checks and effective communication among shifts. Provides training and any resources needed within the scope of work.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises Production employees.
• Obtains production schedule, requests necessary work materials & distributes among the operators and line workers.
• Monitors productivity, downtime and reduce waste to standards.
• Performs random weight inspections of product to and take necessary actions to ensure targets are met.
• Provides relief to production personnel as necessary (i.e. lunch time, absenteeism, breaks, etc).
• Coordinates change over with process operators and packaging personnel.
• Properly completes all documentation and reports.
• Verifies code dates, sealing, product weight, and product appearance, is within specified parameters and conform to clients' expectations.
• Ensures trays, pallets and/or boxes are within standards.
• Trains new employees and monitors and evaluates their progress (includes Safety, Preventive Controls & Food Safety); recommends transfers and promotions.
• Fills in for supervisor in absence.
• Consistently applies company rules per employee handbook and per company policies (i.e. attendance, safety, etc.) and ensures safety regulations, policies and procedures are followed.

Education:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree preferred.

Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in a production line in a manufacturing plant required.
  • Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

*Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience overseeing a production line is highly preferred
  • Must have good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize assigned work.
  • Experience with manufacturing safety concepts, applications and committees.
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Must be able to work independently with a proven record of follow-though, teamwork and accountability
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to adapt to system changes as needed.
  • Able to perform simple analysis
  • SAP & ADP knowledge preferred
  • Effectively communicate in Spanish and English
  • Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time
  • Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold and small areas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs
