This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who understands JD Edwards development and the broader business systems landscape that supports a diversified equipment manufacturer.

What You'll Do

  • Translate business requirements across ERP, CRM, e-commerce, manufacturing, logistics, finance, reporting, and dealer/customer-facing systems into clear solution designs, development estimates, and maintainable deliverables.
  • Support manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, inventory, finance, and MRP-related business processes within an ERP environment.
  • Develop and maintain JDE objects and customizations using appropriate JD Edwards development tools and standards.
  • Create and support integrations between ERP and connected enterprise systems using APIs, web services, middleware, EDI, ETL, reporting pipelines, and other approved integration patterns.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, business analysts, functional owners, application teams, infrastructure, cybersecurity, vendors, and developers to simplify, standardize, integrate, and improve business systems that support manufacturing and operational processes.
  • Support delivery teams through solution design, design reviews, implementation planning, testing, cutover readiness, deployment, production support, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Participate in architecture governance, platform rationalization, standards development, and portfolio planning with a focus on practical execution and supportable solutions.
  • Create clear technical and architecture documentation, including design specifications, system context diagrams, data flows, interface maps, process views, configuration notes, and support procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, improve data visibility, strengthen integrations, automate manual work, and improve ERP and business systems performance across operating companies.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience developing, enhancing, and supporting JD Edwards in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
  • Strong ERP background with working knowledge of manufacturing operations, inventory management, procurement, supply chain, finance, CRM, e-commerce, and MRP concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with JD Edwards development, configuration, reporting, integration, and related development tools strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems such as JD Edwards, Microsoft Azure, Power BI, Salesforce, GenAlpha, RFSmart, SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens Solid Edge, EPM/Vena, SAP Concur, Vertex, SnapPay, HighRadius, ReportsNow, supplier portals, dealer portals, or related manufacturing and business platforms.
  • Experience creating technical specifications, unit test plans, deployment documentation, support documentation, interface documentation, and practical solution designs for ERP and business systems changes.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data structures, business views, batch jobs, reporting, cloud, integration, and ERP integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with APIs, web services, EDI, ETL, middleware, reporting pipelines, or other enterprise integration technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across application, data, process, integration, reporting, and user-experience layers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with business users, technical teams, plant teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage priorities, support production needs, and contribute to projects in a structured change-management environment.

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience serving as a technical lead or senior developer for JD Edwards projects, upgrades, retrofits, managed services, production support, or business systems improvement initiatives.
  • Practical understanding of MRP, production scheduling, shop-floor execution, inventory optimization, purchasing, work orders, bills of material, routings, standard costing, quality, warranty, and aftermarket parts processes.
  • Experience supporting ERP standardization, process improvement, application rationalization, documentation discipline, and governance in a multi-site manufacturing organization.
  • Ability to think like an architect while still producing practical designs that development, application, and support teams can build, deploy, and maintain.
