Full Job Description

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the TCOO organization within the Regulatory Reporting Technology team. This position focuses on platform modernization and regulatory/compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities include full‑stack application design and development using modern engineering practices. The successful candidate will contribute to the enhancement, development, and delivery of enterprise frameworks and microservices that enable robust, compliant, and scalable business applications. This role is required to design and develop OTC regulatory platform components supporting various operations and regulatory requirements and requires very strong technical knowledge of Java and a solid foundation of server design methodologies. Must be able to write highly functional and performance code in a structured manner. Successful applicants will help enhance, build, and deliver application frameworks and specific functionality around Regulatory Technology.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

  • Ensure use of the agreed technology/tools and interfaces to ensure smooth integration and platform availability across DEV, SIT, UAT and Production

  • Work closely with the business analysts to review requirements to ensure appropriate level of detail is provide to the tech team

  • Establish and document best practices around design, development and deployment

  • Create relevant SDLC documentation/deliverables as part of standard project implementations (architecture & design documents, deployment diagrams, source code, scripts, any necessary documentation, etc.) 

  • Work with cross functional teams (Application Development, Business Users, IT security, Middleware/Platform, Datapower, MQ, and Coherence) to evaluate solution & implement high visibility business & technology initiatives

  • Evaluate solutions, review system architecture, design and toolsets to achieve project objectives including usability, performance, reliability, monitoring, control, and security requirements

  • Proactively collaborate with the managers to identify key solutions for regulatory obligations, risks, risk mitigations and review technical deliverables during the entire project life cycle


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education-

  • 5+ years of Core Java experience

  • 4+ years of .NET core experience  

  • 5+ years of Spring/Spring boot experience

  • 4+ years of relational database experience

  • 4+ years of UNIX experience

  • 4+ years of SQL experience

  • 4+ years of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) experience

  • 4+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services

  • 4+ years of JMS (Java Message Service) experience

  • 3+ years of experience in microservices development

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+years of Mongo DB experience

  • 2+ years of Python experience

  • 2+ years of Kafka experience

  • 2+ years of Oracle Coherence development or implementation experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Expectations

  • Hybrid work model: 3 days per week in office

  • Regular engagement with third‑party vendors and technology service providers

  • Lead resolution of complex, ambiguous engineering and regulatory challenges, requiring innovation, architectural judgment, and cross‑functional leadership

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
