As a Lead IT Project Manager at McKesson Medical-Surgical Inc., you will be responsible for leading and managing complex IT projects from initiation to closure, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, develop project plans, and mitigate risks, contributing to the strategic objectives of our healthcare technology initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for multiple, concurrent IT projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed tasks, resource allocation, and timelines.
Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and escalating as necessary.
Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Communicate project status, progress, and issues to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, best practices, and organizational standards and SAFe Agile.
Manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring projects stay within financial constraints.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between IT teams, business units, and external vendors.
Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and tools within the organization.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Typically require 10+ years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects.
PMP or equivalent project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2) highly preferred.
SAFe 6.0 Senior Scrum Master or RTE Certification highly preferred.
Delivery in multi-mode methodology is required (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
Demonstrated experience managing projects involving enterprise-level software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, or system integrations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience in the healthcare or medical-surgical industry is a plus.
