Job SummaryLeads and coordinates all interior design work, including to function as the lead interior design consultant to all departments, units and other staff. Provides oversight to assign, guide, review and approve the related work of all other interior designer staff within the department, and any outsourced design consultants, to ensure that appropriate design process, solutions, standards and documentation are produced and applied.
Essential FunctionsProvide creative and technical direction for interior environments, ensuring all design solutions align with Corewell Health branding, standards, and system‑wide built environment strategy.
Lead Interior Design initiatives that support system strategic priorities through collaboration with internal and external partners.
Functions as the lead interior design consultant to all departments, units and other staff with regard to planning of renovations and additions. Provides input into feasibility of initiating various construction and renovation projects. This includes leading the development conceptual designs and present to leadership. Responsible for the development of standards, including furniture and finishes throughout the system.
Functions as a project team leader for selected projects, coordinating work with design staff, design consultants, calling meetings, setting deadlines and serving as major contact for clients. Writes meeting minutes to support project decisions.
Lead the design management (directing, coordinating and review/approval) of professional interior design consultant services, including the review of plan/program documents, designs, construction bid documents (drawings, specifications, and estimates and project budgets). Work with contractors to manage schedules and installs of furniture and finishes for moderate to complex projects.
Reviews and approves the work of consultant interior design firms and other specialty consultants in the preparation of studies and design/construction documents. Manage furniture purchase orders, installation and final punch list.
Lead the relationship with Corewell Health furniture vendor partners and design consultants to create and implement Corewell Health standards.
Lead the team in the development of construction documents (plans and schedules) for construction. Work in both CAD and Revit formats for development of conceptual plans and construction documents.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent Interior Design or equivalent years of education, training and experience
CRT-Contract Interior Designer, Certified - NCIDQ National Council for Interior Design Qualifications
10 years of relevant experience Contract interior design
