Role PurposeLead process development, optimization, and validation for injection molding programs spanning new product launches, tool transfers, and sustaining production. As a senior technical resource, you will drive resolution of complex process challenges, establish robust process standards, and partner cross-functionally with tooling, maintenance, quality, and automation teams to deliver consistent, high-performance manufacturing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead development, setup, optimization, and validation of injection molding process parameters to ensure consistent part quality, machine reliability, and long-term process robustness
- Troubleshoot complex and chronic molding defects; identify root causes, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and drive sustainable corrective actions
- Own process qualifications, mold trials, first article runs, and production transfer support to ensure launch readiness and stable execution
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with tooling, maintenance, automation, quality, and production teams on technical priorities and improvement opportunities
- Mentor operators, technicians, and junior engineers in process discipline, scientific molding principles, and continuous improvement practices
Experiences/Education - Required- Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on injection molding process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience leading development, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting of injection molding processes in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, hot runner systems, auxiliary equipment, and resin processing requirements
- Demonstrated experience establishing and sustaining robust, repeatable process parameters using scientific molding principles
- Experience leading process qualifications, mold trials, first article runs, and production transfer activities
- Ability to read engineering drawings, interpret part specifications and tolerances, and translate technical requirements into stable manufacturing processes
- Experience working cross-functionally with tooling, maintenance, quality, automation, and production teams to drive technical solutions
Experiences/Education - Desired- Experience with decoupled molding methodologies, design of experiments (DOE), statistical process control (SPC), and validation documentation
- Familiarity with engineering-grade resins, multi-cavity molds, lean manufacturing, or regulated industries such as automotive, medical device, or consumer products
- Experience developing process standards, documentation practices, or training materials that improve operational consistency
This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $101,586.00 - $139,681.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
