JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platform - Network Services, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications and platform products. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture domains.

Lead a team responsible for secure, resilient network infrastructure with strong ownership of risk remediation, audit readiness, and standardized engineering/change execution across on-prem and cloud environments. You will drive operational excellence, partner across functions, and ensure the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve delivery speed and quality.

Job responsibilities

  • Own network risk identification and remediation across firewalls, proxies, routers, switches, load balancers, and related platforms.
  • Lead risk and audit-driven execution, assisting with Audit RFIs and ensuring timely, accurate responses to audit inquiries.
  • Drive end-to-end execution by prioritizing work, ensuring timely follow-through, and managing stakeholders.
  • Present status, risks, and decisions clearly to senior leadership.
  • Lead risk remediation initiatives, pinpointing root causes and executing effective solutions.
  • Establish operational excellence through runbooks, standards, diagrams, and repeatable controls that are audit-ready.
  • Build and maintain KRIs/KPIs and dashboards for leadership reporting (exposure, SLA adherence, control health).
  • Partner across Cyber, Technology, and Operations to reduce operational, cyber, data, and resiliency risk.
  • Lead team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve delivery speed and quality, with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
  • Provide immediate team with tasks, guidance, and expectations, overseeing work within the infrastructure engineering discipline.
  • Identify and escalate issues to execute according to compliance standards, risk and security, and service-level agreements.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Risk/controls exposure and tooling familiarity (e.g., Archer or similar GRC platforms).
  • Relevant certifications in network/security or risk fundamentals, and commitment to continuous learning in risk and resilience.
  • Experience leading infrastructure engineering projects and team members.
  • Experience leading teams in the safe use of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment for infrastructure engineering workflows.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before adoption, escalating uncertainty and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or system performance assessments.
  • Proficiency in automation for infrastructure engineering tasks.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical expertise, leadership, and business knowledge to projects of moderate scope.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid network environments.
