Job Description:

The Industrial Engineering team is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support engineering and production operations, focusing on meeting cost, schedule, and technical performance goals to improve manufacturing processes and facilities. This individual will work within a matrix organization, aligning high level objectives with detailed process improvements that will design and implement manufacturing processes, optimizing layout and workflow to ensure safety, quality, and productivity This position benefits from strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing engineers, process engineers, and production supervisors to achieve key performance metrics.
  • Analyze production Process and Workstreams to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop work standards, time studies, and ergonomic analyses to support manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor and report on process performance, utilizing data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve production issues, working closely with quality assurance and operations teams.
  • Provide technical support for new product development, ensuring manufacturability and scalability of designs.
  • Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and practices across production lines.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introduction, process validation, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
  • Travel: 25%.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • 5 years demonstrated experience in process improvement, production planning, and capacity analysis in a manufacturing environment.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Previous experience in aerospace or defense industry preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with CAD software for layout planning and process design.
