Summary

This position is located in Region 1, within the Grants Division, in Cambridge or Maynard, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate has experience reviewing work plans, budgets, and quarterly financial reports, as well as monitoring grants to ensure projects comply with national policies and federal regulations.

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will serve as the Lead Grants Management Specialist. Typical assignments include:

  • Administering full range of grants administration including award, monitoring and closeout;
  • Conducting enhanced financial monitoring of recipients to ensure compliance with federal regulations;
  • Providing technical assistance on grant related issues to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Coordinating projects with staff to ensure timely completion; AND
  • Ensuring timely response to audit requests; other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  1. Applying expert knowledge of federal grants financial management related to laws, regulations, policies, and guidance.
  2. Providing technical assistance on grant administration, compliance, and financial management requirements; AND
  3. Analyzing complex issues, supporting sound decision-making, and promoting effective stewardship of federal funds.
