We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Construction Coordinator to join our team. The Environmental Construction Coordinator supports onsite construction by coordinating environmental compliance, permit requirements, inspections, and documentation. This role works closely with the Site Manager, construction contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies to ensure work is performed within approved limits and in accordance with project commitments, environmental permits, SWPPP/BMP requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Environmental Construction Coordinator needs to have a strong understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes. This role will support various projects in various locations, consulting with the project management teams to ensure overall client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor construction activities along the pipeline right-of-way, access roads, staging areas, and other permitted workspaces.
- Monitor compliance with environmental permits, mitigation measures, approved plans, and project-specific environmental procedures.
- Perform and document routine environmental inspections, including erosion and sediment controls, waterbody and wetland crossings, topsoil segregation, vegetation clearing, revegetation, waste handling, spill prevention, and restoration activities.
- Confirm that work remains within approved right-of-way limits, environmental buffers, access routes, and other designated boundaries.
- Coordinate implementation, maintenance, and corrective actions for erosion and sediment control measures and other best management practices.
- Identify, document, and promptly escalate environmental nonconformances, spills, unauthorized discharges, permit deviations, and other potential impacts.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to address deficiencies and verify timely closeout of environmental action items.
- Maintain daily reports, inspection records, photographs, permit files, agency correspondence, training records, and environmental tracking logs.
- Support environmental orientation and awareness training for site personnel and contractors.
- Participate in pre-job meetings, construction planning meetings, environmental reviews, and coordination meetings with the project team and client.
- Provide concise daily and weekly status updates on environmental performance, open issues, trends, and upcoming requirements.
- Promote a proactive culture focused on protecting people, the public, property, and the environment while supporting safe and efficient construction execution. Monitoring applications for necessary environmental permits, including air, water, and waste permits.
- Stay informed of current environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- Assist with and review compliance plans to address identified issues.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on environmental regulations and compliance procedures.
- Provide technical support to project teams on environmental permitting and compliance matters.
Qualifications

- Must have the field experience with environmental compliance activities.
- 10+ years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA.
- Knowledge of environmental impact assessment and risk assessment methodologies.
- Ability to work independently, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to accept long-term field assignments.
Compensation Range$118,023 - $180,313
