Your Opportunity as theLead Engineer Utilities and Facilities

The Utilities and Facilities Lead Engineer has responsibility for plant utility, facility, and life safety systems. He/she leads the utilities team in assuring continuous operational coverage and maintenance for these systems. This includes equipment specification and maintenance, instruction and coaching on proper operation, technician development, troubleshooting and repair to achieve or exceed reliability targets, and technical support on future expansion projects.

Location:Longmont, CO

Work Arrangements:Monday 6Friday with flexibility to support operations during occasional evenings, nights, or weekends, based on operational and business needs.

In this role you will:

  • Responsible for overall success of plant utilities, facilities, and life safety systems
  • Maintains compliance with permits and relationships with regulatory agencies and outside utility providers
  • Participates in daily directional setting meetings; communicates issues and action plans relative to plant utility systems
  • Manages the plant utility team, including providing daily direction, priorities, coaching and feedback
  • Provides continued utilities team development through diverse education and coaching on the technical elements of facility operation with the focus of developing team members
  • Owns utility cost results, gap analysis, and improvement plan at the plant level
  • Prioritizes mechanical and electrical work of the utilities maintenance resources to maintain plant
  • Member of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) pillar team
  • Responsible for maintenance planning and spare parts strategy within the department leveraging the use of Oracle eAM
  • Develops capital improvement projects associated with the utility systems, both for efficiency and cost reduction improvements
  • Responsible for the plant's waste water treatment facility and it27s reliable operation
  • Owner of technical documentation for utilities and facilities
  • PSM owner for facility including maintaining the ammonia refrigeration PSM program and assuring compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory agencies

What we are looking for:

MinimumRequirements:

  • 4-year technical degree preferred and/or significant demonstrated experience
  • At least 3 years of plant utilities systems experience or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is required
  • Technical knowledge of the following systems:Boilers, compressors, HVAC, ammonia refrigeration, combustion systems, electrical distribution, water and sewer systems, fire systems, and misc. facility systems

Additionalskills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Experience preferred in environmental management including specific knowledge in ammonia refrigeration, air emission reporting, wastewater, spill containment and control (SPCC), and chemical reporting for State Emergency Response
  • Familiar with contract management relative to predictive technologies (infrared, vibration, oil, etc.) and outside technical contract services (ability to identify the proper technology at the correct frequency)
  • Experience leading, teaching, or managing others effectively is required
  • Ability to work and manage within a team environment
  • Proficient with Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (eAM)
  • Experience with high-performance work systems
  • Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize actions to help meet plant objectives and long-term vision
  • Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

Colorado Salary Range

$102,500 to $148,500
