Job Description
As the technical leader on this project, you will own the technical design and development of web-based applications and backend services. You will provide technical guidance for large scale projects related to web-based applications and digital tools used for dyslexia screening, free of charge, across the state of California. You will collaborate with, mentor, and train other engineers. You will establish patterns to ensure engineering effectiveness and engineering excelllence. You'll work your team to push projects forward by providing feedback on code and architecture decisions. You will keep up a working knowledge of evolving tools and innovations in programming to guide engineering execution and implementation. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum five years of experience or equivalent experience / training.Advanced knowledge of secure software development Highly advanced skills associated with software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope. Excellent project leadership and management skills. Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans. Advanced experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums. Advanced experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. Demonstrated software repository skills. Experience developing and executing complex test plans. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrated complex problem- solving skills.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
