Job Description SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Gas Turbine Component Repair Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing activities associated with repair development and repair qualification of LM2500, LM6000, and LMS100 components.
The Lead Repair Engineer is an individual contributor who will work to make decisions, apply concepts and resolve issues on assigned projects guided by established business policies, procedures, standards and best practices. This role involves engineering assessment, preparation of specifications, first time repair development, and substantiation of repair procedures and outcomes. The position requires frequent communication with GE Vernova's internal and external repair facilities and responding to customer inquiries regarding component repairs/repairability.
In this role, you will have opportunities to work on various gas turbine aeroderivative models (LM2500, LM6000, LMS100) and modules, including low- & high-pressure compressors, low- & high-pressure turbines, combustors, rotors, structures, and various airfoils. You will use your expertise to solve existing component repair challenges, eliminate repair backlog, and support business objectives by aiding in developing and executing component repair strategies.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities- Lead the development and industrialization of advanced repairs for aero gas turbine components.
- Apply technical expertise to solve multifaceted challenges in manufacturing, product management, and engineering, often re-evaluating existing solutions to drive improvements.
- Ensure all technical data, testing, and process changes are rigorously documented in compliance with engineering policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
- Manage and execute small-to-medium technical projects, effectively balancing risk, and deliverable timelines.
- Support repair process qualifications and work with engineering partners to support repair standardization and industrialization.
- Prepare and present technical data, findings, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders, Chief Engineers and leadership.
- Act as the technical focal point for the disposition of component repair Departure Records (DRs) related to your assigned components.
- Support engineering and business partners to ensure that newly developed repair processes, procedures, limits, etc. are properly incorporated into appropriate shop, vendor, and engineering manuals & documents.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in mechanical (industrial) component repair process and practices OR gas turbine mechanical design.
Desired Characteristics- 6 years of additional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Repair
- Prior experience with repair special processes, including welding, brazing, thermal spray, heat treat, machining, blending, coating, and surface treatments
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative team skills. Ability to connect effectively with a broad group of stakeholders.
- Strong technical aptitude related to components and systems of increasing complexity.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan and execute programs.
Work Environment:The role involves significant interaction with global teams and may require travel up to 10% to internal and external repair vendor sites.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
