JOB TITLE:Lead Engineer, Energy and Infrastructure Projects (Puerto Rico)

LOCATION: Puerto Rico (Hybrid)

How will you make your impact?

As a Lead Engineer at Linxon, you will be responsible for the full engineering execution of high‑ and medium‑voltage substation projects supporting data centers, renewable energy, grid interconnections, energy storage, and critical infrastructure. You will serve as the technical authority for AIS, GIS, and BESS projects, leading engineering from proposal through construction and commissioning while ensuring safety, technical compliance, constructability, cost control, and schedule performance. In this role, you will drive engineering decisions, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and deliver reliable, high‑quality substation solutions that meet contractual obligations and long‑term operational requirements.

What will you do?
  • You will lead and coordinate all engineering activities across proposal, design, and execution phases

  • You will manage internal engineering teams and outsourced engineering partners to deliver complete scopes of work

  • You will ensure all engineering deliverables comply with project contracts, customer requirements, and applicable codes and standards

  • You will develop, maintain, and control engineering schedules to support on‑time project delivery

  • You will own and manage engineering documentation and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle

  • You will develop and review design criteria, single‑line diagrams, layout drawings, calculations, and equipment specifications

  • You will drive value engineering and cost‑reduction initiatives without compromising safety or performance

  • You will evaluate vendor and subcontractor technical bids and support contract award decisions

  • You will review and approve internal and external design packages for accuracy, constructability, and compliance

  • You will monitor vendor performance and witness factory acceptance testing

  • You will support procurement activities, scope management, change orders, and schedule updates

  • You will resolve engineering issues, site queries, and non‑conformances to avoid delays and rework

  • You will lead technical discussions with clients, utilities, and stakeholders and secure engineering approvals

  • You will ensure all engineering activities meet Linxon safety, quality, and performance standards

Who you are?

  • You have a BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline

  • You have 10 to 15 years of experience in substation engineering projects

  • You have strong expertise in high‑ and medium‑voltage substations, including AIS, GIS, and BESS

  • You have experience with renewable energy systems such as PV, wind, energy storage, and grid interconnection

  • You have in‑depth knowledge of NEC, IEC, IEEE, and NFPA codes and standards

  • You have proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, Helioscope, Revit, and SCADA systems

  • You have strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to lead technical decisions

  • You have a high attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and execution

  • You have fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal
