At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, we have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer.The Lead Engineeris responsible fordesigning, developing, and leading the delivery of enterprise CRM solutions using the Pega platformat BCBSMA. This role drives scalable, secure, and high-performing systems that support member and provider engagement while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.
This role is eligible for our Flex Persona. For candidates local to our Boston, MA and Hingham MA offices.
Your Day to Day:
Lead the design, development, and implementation ofPega CRM solutions, including workflows and case management
Define andmaintainsystem architecturealigned with enterprise standards
Provide technical leadership throughcode reviews, mentoring, and best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translatebusiness requirements into technical solutions
OverseeAgile delivery, including sprint planning, execution, and releases
Ensuresystem performance, scalability, and reliability
Support production systems, includingincident management and root cause analysis
Develop and manageAPI integrationswith internal and external systems
Ensure adherence tosecurity, compliance, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS, HITRUST)
Maintain properdocumentation, design artifacts, and technical standards
We27re Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
8+ years of software engineering experience
3+ years of hands-on experience withPega CRM
Proven experience intechnical leadership or lead engineering roles
Strong experience withAPI development, integrations, and distributed systems
Experience working inAgile/Scrum environments
Preferred: Experience inhealth insurance or healthcare domainand cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
