Job Title: Lead Engineer

Location(s): Tustin, CA - Onsite
Compensation: $115,000- $135,000

About this position:

Our ODM Project Development and Solutions team in Tustin, CA is seeking a Lead Engineer to guide technical projects from concept through completion, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a primary technical resource for customers, sales, and internal teams supporting embedded and network PC hardware and software solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical discussions and provide technical support to customers, sales personnel, and internal teams on embedded and network PC hardware and software solutions.
  • Assess customers' high-level technical requirements, design solutions, test systems, and support installation and deployment of embedded PC hardware and software environments.
  • Develop hardware and software demonstration prototypes to support sales and marketing initiatives, including rapid prototyping and system integration.
  • Lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance and best-practice recommendations.
  • Support business development and sales through pre- and post-sales technical assessments, feasibility testing, technical responses to customer bids, RMA verification, and technical training.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues during validation of computer-based products.
  • Manage technical projects from concept through completion while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in trade shows, customer visits, and other business activities and travel periodically as required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically for customer visits, trade shows, technical training, installations, and other business needs.
  • The role may occasionally require lifting and carrying equipment and periods of sitting, standing, walking, or working at customer and trade-show locations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • 7+ years of experience in PC hardware engineering, design, installation, troubleshooting, or a related technical field, including experience leading technical projects or teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams or projects, combined with hands-on technical experience.
  • Strong testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work across multiple projects while meeting established deadlines.
  • Experience managing technical projects from concept through completion.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to customers, sales teams, engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience designing system architecture and interfaces, including electrical circuit design.
  • Experience with or familiarity with concept-to-proposal and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems and related applications.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing technical projects or pre- and post-sales engineering activities.
