Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. #LI-TH1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision of superintendents supporting 50 to 100 craft or Responsible for Area/Facility)
  • Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. (Direct Hire)
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. (Direct Hire)

Planning / Productivity
  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.

Tools, Materials & Equipment
  • Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site.
  • Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive.

Safety & Quality
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.

Technical
  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
  • Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation
  • Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan, the Bechtel Core Processes, and Zero Accident Philosophy
  • Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities
  • Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs)
  • Computer literate in Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents
  • Experience working with supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce

Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
