About the Role:Join a dynamic manufacturing environment as a Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in supporting the electrical infrastructure that keeps operations running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on position, you'll drive reliability, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with cross-functional teams on troubleshooting, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and capital projects. Here's a glimpse into your day to day:- Provide technical leadership for facility electrical infrastructure, including high, medium and low-voltage power distribution systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, protective devices, emergency power systems, and associated equipment.
- Monitor and support the safe and reliable operation of facility power generation and utility distribution systems.
- Lead electrical reliability initiatives focused on asset performance, risk reduction, equipment lifecycle management, and operational uptime.
- Conduct and review electrical system studies, including load flow analysis, load balancing assessments, short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash evaluations.
- Develop and implement remediation plans resulting from electrical system studies and reliability assessments.
- Support facility sustainability and energy management programs by identifying opportunities for energy reduction, utility optimization, and operational cost savings.
- Lead feasibility studies and technical evaluations for facility upgrades, capacity expansions, infrastructure improvements, and capital investment projects.
- Partner with project teams to support electrical scope development, budgeting, design reviews, procurement activities, construction oversight, commissioning, and startup efforts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.
- Participate in root cause investigations related to electrical failures, equipment downtime, and system reliability concerns.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Review and maintain electrical one-line diagrams, arc flash documentation, equipment records, and technical standards.
- Coordinate activities involving electrical contractors, consultants, utilities, equipment vendors, and service providers.
- Support change management processes related to facility infrastructure modifications and major capital projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to maintenance, engineering, and operations personnel.
You'll be a perfect fit if you have:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience supporting electrical systems within a manufacturing, industrial, utility, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, or similar production environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial power distribution systems, electrical equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Experience supporting high, medium and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Experience conducting electrical system troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NEC, and electrical safety best practices.
- Experience supporting asset reliability, maintenance, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Ability to review and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Demonstrated project management experience related to facility infrastructure improvements or capital projects.
- Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting facilities with onsite power generation, cogeneration, or utility plant operations.
- Proficiency with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar electrical power system analysis software.
- Experience leading arc flash studies, coordination studies, short-circuit studies, and remediation efforts.
- Experience with electrical system capacity planning, load balancing, and utility infrastructure assessments.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Experience managing electrical contractors and engineering consultants.
- Experience supporting sustainability, energy reduction, or utility optimization programs.
- Working knowledge of industrial controls, automation systems, PLCs, and process manufacturing equipment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Compensation and Benefits:- Pay: $135,000-190,000 Annually (depending on experience)
