Job Description

As a Lead Electrical Design Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a key role in leading and managing electrical engineering projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components. The lead engineer will provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to the team, ensuring the successful execution of projects. You will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager of the EE org and you'll work out of our Clearwater, Florida location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the company's ability to deliver high-quality, innovative, and technologically advanced electrical engineering solutions. Your technical leadership, project management skills, and commitment to excellence will contribute to the company's success, reputation, and growth in the industry.
In this technical leader role, you will be designing analog, high speed processing and digital electronic Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) for Electronic Solutions within Honeywell Aerospace. Help us create the world's most advanced systems with your sensor electronics, computer architecture, and digital electrical design skills for space-based electronics on aircraft, surface, and human based/satellite space systems, sensors, and navigation systems.
You will be responsible for supporting multiple complex Printed Board Assembly (PBAs) development assignments, including supporting system trades, setting, and negotiating module requirements derived from system requirements, developing architectures, completing design, analysis, and testing in an engineering laboratory setting. This leadership role involves collaborating with a global, multi-disciplinary team of PBA electrical design, systems, software, IC design, and mechanical engineers to reach effective solutions to medium to low complexity electrical engineering problems under moderate supervision. In this role, you will interact with customers and Chief Engineers to ensure our PBAs for commercial, military and space products operate in very harsh environments. In addition, you will support proposals and quotation efforts for Analog/Digital design efforts. As an electrical engineering technical expert, you will leverage advanced tools and simulation techniques to deliver high impact business results while acting as a technical leader and coach for other engineers.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
• 8+ years of experience in digital/analog hardware electrical design
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, practices, and standards.
• Significant lab experience testing and debugging complex electronic circuits.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.

• Experience supporting PBA level requirements development, preliminary and detailed design, design verification, and qualification spanning a high mix of moderate complexity commercial, defense, and space products and systems
• Experience ensuring our designs meet the industry standards of DO-254 for Avionics Hardware Development and Certification
• Strong aptitude for low noise analog and sensor interface design and analysis, signal processing and conversion
• Experience designing with modern processing technologies and architectures including micro-processors and FPGAs, DDR and flash memories, high speed physical and wireless communication and interconnects, and interfaces to sensors and guidance electronics
• Proficiency with Mentor Graphics Xpedition Enterprise Design Flow Mathcad, Timing Designer, MS Excel, and LTSpice.
• Strong SPICE simulation experience including parametric modification and validation including Monte Carlo technique
• Knowledgeable in project estimation, planning, and cost and schedule management
• Be able to communicate effectively and clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a variety of audiences, both written and verbal.
• Ability to generate Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layout constraint guidelines, oversee the layout and fabrication of the design.

The annual base salary range for this position is $146,000-$183,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
