About the role:

As a Lead Environmental Health & Safety Specialist you will work toward developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments; investigating safety incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence; providing advice and training on protocols and conducting audits to ensure safety compliance with organization and government standards; maintaining relationships with the community, and other stakeholders impacted by the safety performance of the organization. Leads in the technical space as recognized expert that helps the global organization implement the programs. Responsibilities typically include managing large projects or processes.

You will report to the Sr EHS Manager and be located in Ogden, UT.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive all health and safety issues to regulatory compliance.
  • Be a technical lead for plant health and safety issues and opportunities, to support manufacturing and fabrication operations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, assistance, and support for site wide health and safety issues and serves as main contact for health and safety issues, risks and events.
  • Maintain all facility health and safety procedures.
  • Communicate new plans, standards, regulations, and events throughout the organization.
  • Analyze and trends Safety performance data.
  • Report and shares site company and industry Safety data, metrics, best practices and lessons learned relevant to Safety management and communicates to local and global EHS.
  • Ensure that all required health and safety compliance data is collected, maintained, and managed (e.g., IH Sampling records).
  • Lead health and safety incident investigations or reviews and ensure adequacy of health and safety training.
  • Prepare site to implement health and safety and emergency processes in the event of an health and safety/emergency incident.
  • Facilitate health and safety audits, assessments and implements, and partners with sites and operations to implement corrections and controls.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, engineering, safety or related degrees.
  • 5+ Years of Experience
  • CIH and or CSP (benifical)


We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $100,800-$126,000 per year.
