Lead Echo Vascular Technologist

Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Lead Echo Vascular Technologist, you will lead activities within the designated location as directed by supervisor. You will be responsible for the performance of non-invasive cardiovascular procedures of adult/ pediatric echocardiography and vascular procedures. You will work closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies while also promoting optimal unit operations. You will follow St. David's Medical Center ICARE standards while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.
• You will utilize open, professional communication (verbal, non-verbal, and written) to directly interact with physicians, patients, guests, and other health team members
• You will make decisions of moderate difficulty that reflect both knowledge and good judgement
• You will handle confidential information regarding patient activities
• You will demonstrate an effective working knowledge of all equipment used in Cardiology and related to their job functions
• You will demonstrate competency in arrhythmia interpretation
• You will participate in budget control
• You will perform complete 2-dimensional, color flow, and Spectral Doppler exams according to protocol
• You will notify physicians of any positive findings that need attention prior to patient's release
• You will provide preliminary measurements and interpretations of examinations
• You will perform necessary equipment checks and QC procedure and reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Maintains adequate supply of materials for vascular lab
• You will assist in scheduling of patients, work in additional patients
• You will review and revise lab protocol to maintain a high level of efficiency
• You will attend required staff meetings
• You will review performance and ensure compliance with accreditation, legal and other regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Experience
• Pediatric and adult echocardiogram and vascular experience

Education
• Associate's Degree in Ultrasound Technology education

Licenses and Certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS) as per St. David's Healthcare policy
• Registry in Cardiac Ultrasound (RDCS) from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from CCI
