Lead Engineering Drafter/Designer within our Nuclear subsector in ERI, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality technical drawings and models that bring complex nuclear designs to life.
Ideally, this position will be located out of one of our
Greater Toronto Area offices.
Your Impact- Lead and develop detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for nuclear facilities in alignment with project standards and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to translate concepts into precise technical documentation
- Apply knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and tolerances to produce high-quality deliverables.
- Support the delivery of nuclear projects by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality across all design outputs
- Review and revise drawings based on project feedback, ensuring alignment with safety and compliance standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards, tools, and workflows
- Coordinate across disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible design solutions
- Uphold strict adherence to nuclear quality assurance processes and documentation requirements
- Play a vital role in advancing clean energy infrastructure that supports long-term sustainability
- Contribute to projects that enhance the safety, sustainability, and modernization of Canada's nuclear infrastructure.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Diploma or degree in Engineering Design, Drafting Technology, or a related field, ideally in Mechanical.
- 15+ years of experience in engineering drafting and design, ideally with a focus on mechanical and structural on complex heavy industry projects, ideally nuclear.
- Previous experience as a Lead Designer/Drafter desired.
- Strong understanding & knowledge of ASME Y14 series, ASME B36.10, B36.19, B16.5, etc.
- Basic understanding of ASME B31.3/31.1, Sec III & CSA N285 Codes/Standards;
- Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor; experience with 3D modeling and drawing management systems
- P.ENG an asset.
- Ability to interpret and develop detailed technical drawings from engineering inputs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in high-stakes environments
- Effective leadership, collaboration and communication skills in multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to mentor and coach others with a willingness to form and shape the drafting team from the ground up
- Understanding of configuration management and document control processes within regulated industries, basic PDM and standardization
- Comfortable working in a highly regulated environment with a strong focus on quality assurance and safety.
- Passionate about precision, collaboration, and contributing to projects that matter to Canada's energy future.
- Required: Able to meet and maintain Security Clearance requirements to work on nuclear projects in Canada.
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
