Position SummaryThis role leads oversight of financial reporting controls (SOX/ICFR) across CVS Health. You'll set the strategy, standards, and governance for how business process controls are designed, monitored, and improved across the company.
You'll work closely with senior leaders to ensure controls are consistent, effective, and scalable, while helping modernize and strengthen the overall control environment.
What You'll DoSet Strategy & Standards- Define how business process controls are governed across the company
- Standardize control practices across teams and functions
- Lead efforts to improve and modernize controls
- Identify risks and opportunities impacting controls
Provide Oversight & Challenge- Review and challenge how controls are designed and executed
- Assess risks and identify weak areas
- Raise major issues to senior leadership
Manage Issues & Fixes- Oversee control deficiencies and remediation efforts
- Ensure fixes address root causes (not just short-term solutions)
- Track progress and report status to leadership
Audit & Compliance Support- Act as the main contact for internal and external auditors
- Support annual SOX compliance (404)
- Ensure the organization is audit-ready
Drive TransformationLead improvements such as:
- Automation of controls
- Simplifying and reducing unnecessary controls
- Implementing GRC tools
- Using data for better monitoring
- Partner with Finance, Technology, and Operations teams to improve processes.
Leadership- Manage a team directly
- Influence cross-functional leaders (Finance, business units, etc.)
What You BringRequired- 10+ years in SOX, audit, risk, or accounting
- 7+ years leading teams
- Strong knowledge of SOX, COSO, and financial controls
- Experience working with senior leadership in complex organizations
- CPA, CIA, or similar certification
Preferred- Big Four or Fortune 100 experience
- Experience leading large SOX transformation efforts
- Experience with GRC systems and automation
- Industry experience (healthcare, retail, insurance, etc.)
Education- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
