Job DescriptionMain responsibilities:We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Lead Digital Specialist, Local SEO to lead the development, execution, and optimization of Albertsons Companies' local search strategy across all banners and store locations.
This role is responsible for driving local search visibility, location data accuracy, local page performance, and store-level discoverability across search engines, maps platforms, and emerging AI-driven search experiences. The Lead Digital Specialist, Local SEO will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Operations teams to implement scalable SEO solutions that improve customer acquisition and store engagement.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Local SEO, technical SEO, location data management, testing methodologies, and enterprise-scale execution. This individual will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring local search initiatives are properly prioritized, implemented, tested, and measured.
Local SEO Strategy & Execution
- Develop and lead the enterprise Local SEO strategy across all Albertsons Companies banners and locations.
- Identify opportunities to improve visibility within local search results, map platforms, and location-based customer journeys.
- Define SEO requirements for local page templates, location architecture, schema markup, internal linking, and technical improvements.
- Monitor changes in search engine algorithms, local search trends, and AI-driven search experiences to inform optimization strategies.
- Establish SEO roadmaps, priorities, and success metrics aligned to business objectives.
Location Data Management (SLOC/Yext)
- Own and manage the accuracy of store location data across enterprise systems (SLOC), local pages, and third-party platforms.
- Maintain and update location data through Yext, ensuring detailed and accurate store attributes, services, departments, hours, URLs, and business information.
- Develop governance processes that ensure consistency and accuracy across all location listings.
- Partner with business stakeholders to validate store-level information and resolve data discrepancies.
- Monitor and resolve location data issues impacting customer experience or local search performance.
Engineering Partnership
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to scope, prioritize, and implement customized fields in Yext to power internal data.
- Open, close and transition stores in sync with Engineering teams.
- Partner with internal testing teams to update required data in QA environment.
Performance Reporting & Insights
- Measure and report on key Local SEO performance metrics, including rankings, visibility, traffic, engagement, and conversion trends.
- Develop executive-level reporting that communicates opportunities, risks, and business impact.
- Analyze performance across banners, divisions, markets, and store locations.
- Identify trends, technical issues, and optimization opportunities through data analysis.
Governance & Quality Assurance
- Establish QA processes for Local SEO implementations, location data updates, and technical enhancements.
- Ensure location information, metadata, structured data, and customer-facing experiences meet quality standards.
- Drive operational excellence through consistent governance and accountability.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7 plus years of experience in SEO, Local SEO, Digital Marketing, or related disciplines.
- 3 plus years of experience leading enterprise-scale Local SEO programs.
- Experience managing location data platforms such as Yext, Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, and other local listing solutions.
- Experience partnering with Engineering, Product, and Technical teams to deliver SEO initiatives.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO, local search ranking factors, structured data, and website architecture.
- Experience designing and evaluating SEO testing programs.
