Job DescriptionLead Die Repair - 1st Shift RESPONSIBLITIES:- Provide technical leadership and day-to-day support to Tool & Die Makers and apprentices.
- Prioritize and assign work to ensure tooling repairs, preventative maintenance, and production support activities are completed efficiently.
- Train, mentor, and assist in the development of Tool & Die associates and apprentices.
- Monitor tooling performance and maintain a data-driven tool improvement program focused on die reliability and performance.
- Build, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and modify progressive and transfer dies, fixtures, gauges, jigs, and tooling components.
- Perform extensive die maintenance, including rebuilding die sections, retiming pads and forms, engineering changes, spotting dies, and iron-to-iron fitting.
- Runs strip and/or blanks through the die.
- Inspect tooling before, during, and after machining using precision measuring equipment and gauging instruments.
- Perform machining operations utilizing Tool Room equipment in accordance with company standards.
- Heat treat tools and components as required.
- Troubleshoot tooling and press issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain fixture, gauge, tooling, and perishable component inventories.
- Assist in completing work orders, purchase requisitions, tooling documentation, and related records.
- Coordinate engineering changes, tooling projects, and production support activities.
- Update department priorities and communicate shift activities during shift handoffs.
- Promote and maintain housekeeping and 6S standards throughout the Tool Room.
- Operate Tool Room machinery and equipment in accordance with company procedures and applicable safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or GED required.
- Automotive stamping experience.
- Previous leadership or lead experience preferred.
PAY AND SHIFT TIMES:- 1st shift, 6am - 10pm Monday - Friday with OT on weekends as required
- $40.50 per hour
- Additional $2.00 per hour for Journeyman
- Union Facility - Member of UAW local 2000
