About the Role

Location: Remote - Indiana residents

Lead Morley's Appian center of excellence (COE) as the senior technical and people leader for Appian solution delivery. You'll set the strategy for how Morley uses the Appian platform, guide architecture and development standards and help teams deliver scalable, secure applications that meet business needs.

What You'll Do

Lead Appian strategy and solution architecture
  • Set the strategic use of the Appian platform across projects and initiatives
  • Define and promote Appian design patterns, development standards and technical best practices
  • Guide architecture and design for new applications, integrations and platform optimization

Handle project scoping and delivery leadership
  • Guide project scoping, solution planning and development execution to give teams clear direction, realistic estimates and technically sound implementation plans
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to turn requirements into actionable delivery approaches
  • Oversee multiple projects when needed, keeping teams aligned to timelines, quality and priorities

Manage, mentor and develop the team
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, feedback and growth support to developers
  • Help team members solve design, configuration, integration and performance challenges
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

Run COE oversight and governance
  • Oversee the Appian COE, including governance, reusable assets and delivery frameworks
  • Provide architectural review and consistent guidance across teams
  • Strengthen disciplined development practices to improve quality and reduce risk

Serve as a senior advisor and problem solver
  • Advise leaders on Appian capabilities, delivery considerations, technical risks and solution options
  • Support complex troubleshooting by finding root causes and recommending sustainable fixes
  • Act as a trusted escalation point for technical decisions and cross-functional coordination

Lead integration and technical delivery standards
  • Guide integrations between Appian and external systems using web services, FTP and JMS
  • Ensure integrations are secure, reliable and aligned with enterprise architecture standards
  • Improve system interoperability, performance and maintainability through strong architecture practices

Support vendor management and platform operations
  • Help manage the relationship with Appian and coordinate external development resources as needed
  • Support awareness and adoption of new platform releases and features

Own production support and service management
  • Lead IT service management support including incident, problem, change and release management
  • Coordinate support across Appian, external partners and internal dependencies

Partner on security
  • Work with Morley's cybersecurity officer to ensure the platform meets Morley and client security standards

Eligibility Requirements

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years as an applications development leader
    • Deep technical experience with the Appian platform, including solution design, development and established Appian design patterns
    • Senior-level experience in software development, technical leadership or solution architecture
    • Strong background in software delivery methods and application architecture
    • Experience with integration technologies including web services, FTP and JMS
    • Proven people leadership experience: managing teams, mentoring developers and overseeing delivery across multiple projects
  • Able to work the following hours:
    • Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern / 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central / 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mountain / 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific time
    • Flexible to provide support after standard work hours or on weekends if needed
