World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT) currently has an opening for a Lead Developer as a part of our IT Service Delivery team in St. Louis, MO.
You will work in a very dynamic and challenging environment with a team that provides diverse solutions to our business stakeholders and Project Managers within our Services Organization. The IT Service Delivery team uses a broad range of functional and technical skills toward the continued build-out of our professional services and strategic resourcing platforms including integrations to various boundary and custom web applications. The team is also expanding into AI-assisted development and AI-enabled features within our applications, including LLM-backed services, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted coding tooling as part of our standard development practice. As the Lead Developer, you will set the technical direction for this work, own the hardest problems on the platform, and raise the capability of the developers around you.
As a member of our IT Service Delivery team, you will:
- Champion WWT Core Values and model engineering best practices in a way that shapes how the team works
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of integrations and configuration for our professional services and strategic resourcing applications, owning the technical decisions and trade-offs from concept through production
- Own the end-to-end technical design of full stack application features - REST/GraphQL APIs, data models, and modern front-end UI - and champion the patterns, standards, and reusable components that other developers build against
- Drive our approach to AI-enabled capabilities within our applications, including LLM-backed services, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt design, and agentic or MCP-based integrations - selecting the right tools, establishing guardrails, and evaluating accuracy, cost, and security trade-offs before we commit
- Maintain/Sustain how the team uses AI development tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Devin, or similar coding agents) - reviewing effective and responsible usage patterns, review expectations, and the measures we use to judge impact on delivery speed and code quality
- Maintain deep, system-wide understanding of data flow across CA PPM, Beeline, Oracle Fusion Cloud Projects, Oracle DW, and various boundary and custom web applications, and use it to diagnose complex cross-system issues and drive both technical and process improvements
- Serve as the primary escalation point for Production issues - leading triage and root cause analysis, coordinating resolution across teams, and driving the corrective work that keeps problems from recurring
- Represent the team in enterprise architecture, security, and platform discussions to ensure common direction, compliance, and alignment with WWT technology standards
- Set and uphold technical best practices - code review standards, testing expectations, and documentation - and actively mentor developers on the team through pairing, design review, and deliberate growth conversations
- Own the technical relationship with external vendors, customers, and internal teams - scoping requirements, evaluating vendor solutions, managing implementations, and holding partners accountable for delivery and ongoing support
- Maintain the team's automated testing and CI/CD strategy, and ensure coverage and pipeline quality keep the cost of new features and long-term maintenance low
- Translate ambiguous and competing business needs into durable technical solutions, guiding stakeholders and Leadership through options and trade-offs so delivered solutions meet the end user's requirements
- Continue to grow and develop a high level of analytical, technical, and business knowledge, and raise the technical bar of the team by sharing what you learn
- Write code, and mentor the team to write better code, using the AI development tools available to drive improved throughput and quality
