Job Description Summary
The Digital Technology organization is responsible for delivering secure, reliable and scalable technology solutions that enable our business to operate safely, efficiently and with world class quality. This includes building and maintaining the data, analytics and digital tools that support operational execution, productivity and continuous improvement.
Within the Data Science team, the Lead Data Scientist will develop and standardize statistical models, data models, pipelines and analytics that enable consistent, high quality decision making across our MRO shops and Global Supply Chain. This includes building and validating models, working with complex data structures, developing dashboards and reports, ensuring data quality and governance and acting as a technical partner on data related topics for shop, supply chain and functional stakeholders.

Job Description

The Lead Data Scientist will
  • Statistical modeling and advanced analytics: design, build and validate statistical models for MRO and supply chain problems, including regression, forecasting, hypothesis testing and segmentation, and translate results into clear business actions.
  • Heuristics and problem solving: apply both structured methods and practical heuristics to frame and solve complex, ambiguous problems, combining data driven insights with the art of problem solving.
  • Data foundations: define and maintain standard data models, KPIs and reports across MRO shops, suppliers and internal functions, working with complex data structures where needed.
  • Data pipelines: design, build and run repeatable data pipelines from shop, ERP, planning, quality and supply chain systems into governed analytics environments.
  • Analytics and reporting: develop and sustain operational and management dashboards for MRO shops and Global Supply Chain using Tableau, Power BI and Excel, ensuring that visualizations clearly communicate key insights and model outputs.
  • Data quality and standards: monitor data quality, drive root cause fixes and keep clear documentation for models, metrics, pipelines and reports so that solutions are transparent and repeatable.
  • Continuous improvement and Lean: provide data and insight for Lean and productivity initiatives, use simple problem solving tools and techniques and track the impact of changes over time.
  • Stakeholder partnership: work closely with shop leaders and Global Supply Chain teams to understand needs, prioritize work and support strategic projects.
  • Team player: work with passion and commitment to reach company goals, sharing knowledge, best practices and helping upskill others in analytics tools and methods.


Qualifications/requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or related quantitative discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least three years of experience in data science, data analytics or related roles, ideally in manufacturing, MRO or supply chain.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling, including regression, hypothesis testing and time series or forecasting, using languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience working with complex data structures and large datasets, including event, transactional and relational data.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports using Tableau and/or Power BI, or strong Excel skills with the ability and motivation to be upskilled on these platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including structured analysis and the use of heuristics where appropriate.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross functional, remote teams.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined to deliver against business goals with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate MRO and supply chain business questions into data requirements, models, analyses and clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodology and practical problem solving using simple tools and techniques.
  • Experience integrating data from ERP, planning, quality and shop floor systems into analytics and modeling solutions.
  • Ability to work with local and remote resources to close complex projects in due time and to prioritize requirements and manage small project backlogs.
  • Strong program or project management skills, including planning, follow up and stakeholder communication.
  • Passion for developing sustainable, standard and lean data processes that support shop floor and supply chain operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and engagement skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships and simplify complex topics for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Aero Alliance products, services and key operational metrics is an advantage.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $92,400.00 and $153,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: ineligible.
