Full Job Description
Role Summary

The Data Quality Remediation & Governance Analyst is responsible for driving the final stage of the data quality lifecycle, ensuring that identified data quality issues are effectively communicated, remediated, validated, and formally closed. While automated data quality rules and root cause analysis processes identify and diagnose issues, this role bridges the gap between diagnosis and resolution by translating technical findings into business-ready communications, coordinating with data owners, securing remediation commitments, and independently validating successful issue resolution.

This role combines data quality analysis, business analysis, stakeholder management, and governance responsibilities. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and SQL skills to understand technical findings, along with the communication and influencing skills needed to drive accountability across business and technology teams.

Position Overview

The role operates downstream of data quality monitoring and root cause analysis functions and is accountable for:
  • Translating technical data quality findings into clear business context.
  • Validating findings and impacts with business stakeholders.
  • Coordinating remediation efforts with responsible data owners.
  • Tracking issues through the complete remediation lifecycle.
  • Independently verifying resolution through data quality rule re-execution.
  • Providing governance, reporting, and continuous improvement insights.

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality Issue Management
  • Review and interpret root cause analysis outputs from data quality investigations.
  • Convert technical findings into clear, concise, and business-friendly documentation, including issue briefs, executive summaries, remediation requests, and tracking artifacts.
  • Assess business impact, severity, and priority of identified data quality issues.
  • Validate findings with business stakeholders to ensure alignment on issue definition, impact, and remediation requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Remediation Coordination
  • Identify and engage appropriate business and technical data owners responsible for issue resolution.
  • Prepare clear and actionable remediation packages that enable efficient handoff and resolution.
  • Drive issue remediation activities by securing remediation commitments, target dates, and ownership accountability.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with stakeholders and escalate unresolved or aging issues through appropriate governance channels.
  • Facilitate communication between data quality teams, business stakeholders, and data owners throughout the remediation process.

Validation & Closure Management
  • Coordinate re-execution of relevant data quality rules following reported remediation activities.
  • Independently validate remediation outcomes using data quality checks, data analysis, and supporting evidence.
  • Ensure issues are only closed after successful verification and documented confirmation of resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive audit trails and supporting evidence for all remediation and closure activities.

Governance, Tracking & Reporting
  • Maintain a centralized tracking system that serves as the single source of truth for all data quality findings from detection through closure.
  • Monitor issue aging, remediation progress, service-level commitments, and closure metrics.
  • Produce recurring operational reports, KPI dashboards, and executive-ready summaries highlighting:
    • Open findings
    • Aging remediation items
    • Resolution trends
    • Recurring data quality issues
    • Data domain performance metrics
  • Support governance reviews and leadership reporting activities.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify recurring patterns, systemic data issues, and process gaps.
  • Provide feedback to data quality monitoring and root cause analysis teams to support new rule development and process enhancements.
  • Recommend improvements to remediation workflows, governance processes, and stakeholder engagement practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity of enterprise data quality management practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, Business Analysis, Data Management, or related disciplines.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data quality findings.
  • Experience working with data quality frameworks, issue management processes, and remediation lifecycle management.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly communication.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and driving accountability without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Snowflake and enterprise data platforms.
  • Familiarity with data quality tools, governance frameworks, and metadata management practices.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar issue-tracking platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance, master data management, and enterprise data management principles.
  • Experience supporting executive-level reporting and business reviews.
