Full Job Description
The Lead CT Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic CT procedures according to established protocols to assist the referring physician in diagnosis and treatment. Performs computed tomography (CT) procedures by selecting correct exposure factors, algorithms and scan fields while utilizing the assessment of patient age and diagnosis to produce technically accurate cross sectional images to assist the radiologist in diagnosis and treatment. Participates in complex invasive CT examinations by assisting the Radiologist or Physician's Assistant using proper sterile technique and producing CT images.
This is an advanced technical position that provides clinical expertise and education to the CT department, to ensure that a high quality, cost effective product or service is delivered in support of the hospital's strategic plan, and the functions' according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, goals and objectives. This position is mainly 90-100% clinical and provides oversights for off- shift or off- site. The Lead CT TechaAssists with onboarding and training of new hires, as well as provides coaching to CT Tech staff.
Qualifications:
• High School Graduate required.
• Graduation from an AMA accredited Radiography program.
• ARRT crendentialed Radiology Technologist required.Connecticut state Radiographer license requried.
• CT Advanced certification by ARRT preferred.
• Maintain continuing education unit.
• Knowledge of cross-section anatomy preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate.
