Full Job Description

Reporting to theProduct Assurance Engineering Manager,theLead Compliance Engineeris responsible forcontributing to thedesign, development, and sustainment of water quality instruments by providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise in global product compliance, ensuring products meet applicable Safety, EMC/EMI, Wireless, Battery, Laser/LED, and international product compliance requirements.This role supports Product Development, Sustaining, and Quality teams throughpractical, risk-based compliance strategies that enable compliant, market-ready products.

This position is part of theProduct Development Engineering team,locatedinLoveland, CO,and will beonsite.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Translate compliance strategy into product deliverables.

  • Evaluatecomponentor design changes for sustaining compliance.

  • Plan, perform, and oversee EMC/EMI testing internally and at external certified labs.

  • Analyze compliance risks, troubleshoot failures, and recommend design mitigations (e.g., grounding, shielding, filtering, layout improvements).

  • Interface with notified bodies and third-party labs to support certification activities.

  • Prepare and review compliance documentation, including technical files, reports, and declarations of conformity.

  • Support audits and ensure compliance documentation is complete,accurate, andaudit-ready.

  • Lead cross-functional compliance reviews and mentor engineers and stakeholders on product compliance topics.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, ora relatedtechnical discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product compliance, or EMC engineering, preferably in instrumentation, electronics, medical devices, or industrial products.

  • Interpret and apply applicable product compliance standards, with specialization in two or more of the following areas:

  • Product EMC standards certification and testing of electrical instrumentation

  • Product safety standards and certification and testing of electrical instrumentation

  • FCC/ IC radio/wireless standards and certification

  • Battery standards and certification

  • RF Design

  • Hazardous Locations (and ATEX) design certification of electrical instrumentation

  • Laser standards and CDRH certification

  • Environmental compliance (green) standards of electrical instrumentation

  • Demonstratedhandsonexperience with EMC/EMI testing and failure resolution.

Additionalpreferred experience

  • Masters degree ina technicaldiscipline.

  • Experience with analytical or industrial instrumentation products.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or similar quality systems.

  • Experience working with third-party labs and certification bodies.

  • Experience with wireless modules, lasers, LEDs, or battery systems.

  • Specialization in multiple product compliance domains (e.g., Safety, EMC, RF, ATEX, Environmental compliance).

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associates position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $115,000 - $150,000 USD per year.This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
