Job Description

Crisis & Reputation Communications

Function: Corporate Communications | Location: United States (Hybrid/Remote)

The role

This is a senior leadership role owning crisis management, reputation strategy, and executive communications for the Americas region.

You'll be a trusted advisor to senior leadership, shaping how Genpact communicates during sensitive or high-visibility moments. You'll set the strategic direction for crisis and reputation communications, build the frameworks and playbooks the wider team relies on, and step in personally when the moment calls for it. The role also oversees employee communications where it intersects with organizational change, ensuring internal messaging stays clear and consistent.

What you'll do

Crisis and reputation strategy
  • Own the strategy for protecting and strengthening Genpact's reputation in the Americas, setting direction on issue monitoring, risk assessment, and response planning
  • Lead the response on sensitive or fast-moving situations, drafting and approving statements, leadership talking points, and messaging
  • Act as the senior point of contact during high-pressure moments, partnering directly with legal, HR, and executive leadership
  • Build, own, and continuously improve crisis communication playbooks and escalation protocols across the region
  • Direct media, social, and sentiment monitoring, and translate signals into proactive recommendations for leadership

Executive and leadership communications
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on statements, talking points, and messaging for high-visibility moments
  • Prepare leaders for sensitive conversations, media-adjacent moments, and internal announcements that need a careful hand
  • Shape how complex or difficult business topics are communicated, ensuring messaging is clear, credible, and calm

Employee communications
  • Oversee employee messaging during periods of change, setting the tone and approach for how internal communication stays clear, honest, and steady
  • Build the templates, guidance, and capability that let leaders communicate consistently during sensitive moments

Team, agency and stakeholder leadership
  • Guide and mentor communications professionals supporting crisis and reputation work
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and partners, ensuring quality and consistency at pace
  • Build trusted, senior-level relationships across Legal, HR, Communications, and regional leadership

Performance and reporting
  • Define how success is measured across sentiment, coverage, and message effectiveness, and use it to sharpen future strategy
  • Present clear, concise recommendations to senior stakeholders, including in high-tension moments

What we are looking for
  • A proven track record leading sensitive or high-stakes communications at an organizational level, not just executing on them
  • Experience advising senior leaders, including C-suite executives, on reputation and communications strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong judgment on tone and timing
  • Experience working directly with legal and HR on sensitive matters, and comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy
  • Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day workflows, with strong editorial judgment
  • Sound judgment and the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
