The Lead Business Analyst is a senior individual contributor within the Business Technology team, responsible for driving analysis and delivery of enterprise payment solutions. This role partners with Treasury, Product, Digital and Technology teams to ensure payment capabilities are scalable, compliant, and in consideration of enterprise strategy.
You will help translate complex needs into applicable requirements, supporting the payments roadmap, and resolving production issues affecting customer and financial operations.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Digital and Technology Product.

Main Responsibilities
1. Payment Solutions Strategy & Delivery
- Lead analysis and support execution of the enterprise payments roadmap, including digital, lockbox, AutoPay, and real-time payment programs
- Partner with Product Owners to define features and prioritize payment capabilities in consideration of value
- Support implementation and optimization of main platforms (e.g., payment gateways, billing systems, treasury integrations)
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, regulatory requirements, and financial controls
2. Requirements and Business Analysis
- Elicit, document, and validate end-to-end requirements across payment lifecycle (initiation, processing, reconciliation, and reporting)
- Translate our needs into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Perform gap analysis, process mapping, and impact assessments across systems and departments
- Develop artifacts such as process flows, data mappings, and functional specifications
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Be a liaison across Finance, Treasury, Billing, Product, UX, and Engineering teams
- Facilitate working sessions and requirements workshops with partners
- Guide understanding on solution options, trade-offs, and priorities
- Coordinate with external partners and vendors where applicable (e.g., payment processors, banks)
4. Data, Reporting & Financial Controls
- Define requirements for payment reporting, reconciliation, and financial controls
- Partner with Finance and Treasury to ensure accurate cash application, settlement tracking, and audit readiness
- Support data analysis to inform decision-making and compliance
5. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure payment solutions follow regulatory, audit, and security requirements (e.g., PCI, fraud controls, segregation of responsibilities)
- Contribute to enterprise governance frameworks (e.g., payment standards, onboarding strategies, control frameworks)
- Find and address risks across payment processes and system integrations
6. Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Business Analysts and cross-functional team members
- Promote best practices in business analysis, documentation, and partner engagement
- Lead complex programs and act as a trusted advisor to leadership

•Extensive knowledge of infrastructure technologies, operating systems, and the interconnectivity between infrastructure platforms and software tools.
•Demonstrated experience are liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and technology or cost constraints to the business; apply equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy. •Demonstrated experience assimilating and correlating disconnected documentation and drawings, and explaining their collective relevance to us and to high-priority business issues.
•Demonstrated experience creating high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture.
Preferred
- 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Delivery, or Financial Systems
- Experience in payment systems, billing platforms, or financial operations
- Complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies
- Experience in insurance or financial services
- Familiarity with:
- Payment gateways, ACH, card processing, lockbox, AutoPay
- Treasury operations and cash management
- Payment reconciliation and financial reporting
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns (APIs, event-driven systems)
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for requirements management, backlog tracking, and documentation

Why You will Matter
This role is central to allowing a modern, unified payments ecosystem, improving customer experience, and ensuring financial accuracy and control across the enterprise.
We will expect you to work 10 days per month from the office in this hybrid role. You should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations. These locations are in the following cities: Madison, WI 53783, Boston, MA 02110, Denver, CO 80112, Hopkins, MN 55343, Keene, NH 03431, St. Joseph, MO 64507, and Phoenix, AZ 85034.
