About the Role

We are seeking a Lead, Bakery-Maintenance to join our team at our Ancaster, ON bakery. As a Lead, Bakery- Maintenance, you will provide hands-on leadership to the maintenance team, coordinating daily maintenance activities and supporting the safe, reliable operation of bakery equipment and plant systems. This role is critical to maximizing equipment uptime while ensuring compliance with safety, food safety, quality, and GMP standards.

Shift & Schedule

Shift: Rotating Continental
Hours: 12-hour rotating shifts
Weekend Availability: Required

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $50.84 per hour

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)
  • Lead and develop maintenance team members to support operational performance and employee growth.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to meet production and operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment to maximize reliability and uptime.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Promote compliance with health and safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve plant performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through root cause analysis and maintenance planning.


Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
  • Valid trade licence(s).
  • 5-7 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing or high-speed production environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience coaching and developing maintenance employees.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS, preventive maintenance programs, GMPs, food safety, quality, and health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physical tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
  • Certificate of Qualification, preferably including both a 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) licence and a 442A Industrial Electrician licence.
  • Experience leading maintenance employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating shift priorities and supporting maintenance planning activities.
  • Experience working with bakery, packaging, conveyor, automated, or similar production equipment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
