Full Job Description
In this role, you will work with the development team to gather details on features we want to develop and use that information to build and execute automated testing strategies for ADP's cloud-based Human Capital Management and benefits solutions. This role is critical to making sure we deploy high-quality, reliable products that clients can trust. You'll work within an agile team using Cypress, Playwright, MABL, and JavaScript/Cucumber-based automation frameworks to create comprehensive test suites covering end-to-end, integration, API, and accessibility scenarios. You will also leverage Gen AI tools to accelerate test creation, improve coverage analysis, and drive smarter testing strategies. Your role requires you to advocate for necessary changes to improve the end-user experience of our HCM and benefits products. To thrive in this role, you'll need to be curious, data-driven, and at times persuasive. You'll need to be comfortable working across complex domains including health insurance, employee benefits, and enrollment systems. You'll use your leadership and technical expertise to drive quality standards across the team and mentor junior QA professionals. You will own test automation strategy for your product features - building plans, assigning tasks, identifying gaps, and solving problems. If you are looking for a role that is strictly 9-5, this may not be the job for you. Pace should not scare, and flexibility is a must since testing doesn't always occur during regular business hours. But as part of our team, you'll find exciting challenges, get opportunities to grow your career, and develop solid friendships as we design what's next for ADP and the industry. Like what you see? Apply now! WHAT YOU'LL DO: Here's what you can expect on a typical day: - You understand that an agile QA environment requires flexibility. Working in two-week sprints, you must keep up with timelines and coding standards. Time constraints and fluidity of work often mean taking a creative approach to our testing strategy. Your first thought? Bring it on! - Build & Maintain Automation. Develop and maintain automated test suites using JavaScript-based tools (Cypress, Playwright, MABL) and BDD frameworks (Cucumber), covering end-to-end, integration, and unit test scenarios for web applications. - Leverage Gen AI. Utilize Gen AI tools and AI-assisted testing methodologies to accelerate test case generation, improve defect triage, enhance coverage analysis, and explore emerging automation patterns. - Own CI/CD Quality Gates. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) for automated testing, ensuring fast and reliable feedback loops for the development team. - API & Performance Testing. Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and Axios, and conduct performance testing to ensure backend service integrity across ADP's benefits and enrollment platforms. - Accessibility & Cross-Browser Testing. Conduct cross-browser, responsive design, and accessibility testing. Implement automated accessibility checks aligned with WCAG guidelines to ensure inclusive product experiences. - We work collaboratively, so you will communicate and collaborate with technical developers, business stakeholders, and multiple product owners. You'll articulate clear and compelling reasons to persuade developers to make product changes for the end user's benefit. - You're always learning new tools and eager to explore emerging testing technologies, frameworks, and AI-assisted workflows as you grow. - Mentor & Lead. Guide and mentor team members in automation best practices, accessibility standards, and emerging testing technologies. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous process improvements. - Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for a solution. - Experience. You have 8-12 years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role. TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: - You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent. - Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern JavaScript frameworks, with solid understanding of DOM structure, HTML, and CSS. - Extensive experience with Cypress, Playwright, MABL, and other JavaScript-based automation tools. - Proficiency in test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Jest). - Good proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, and experience with manual database testing. - Experience with Gen AI tools and AI-assisted testing methodologies to accelerate test creation, coverage analysis, and defect triage. - Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI). - Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, Axios) and performance testing concepts. - Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and WCAG guidelines, including implementing automated accessibility checks. - Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems (JIRA, TestRail). - Understanding of Agile methodologies and cross-browser testing principles. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Besides the proven experience and technical skills mentioned above, experience with some of these products may give you extra comfort in the role: - Development experience with Javascript, Typescript, Java, Python, Ruby, or C++ - Experience with Protractor, Selenium, or Angular-based test frameworks - Experience monitoring test metrics and driving improvements in testing efficiency NICE TO HAVE: - Understanding of the health insurance, employee benefits, and HCM technology landscape. - Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ACA) and their impact on software quality and compliance testing. - Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) standards and processes, including testing EDI transactions. - Experience with enrollment systems and benefits administration workflows. - Familiarity with retirement plans, 401(k) plans, and wealth management concepts as they relate to HCM platforms. - Experience working with large datasets typical in health and benefits industries. - Knowledge of plan administration processes and systems. - Familiarity with LIMRA standards and other industry-specific protocols. - Awareness of regulatory compliance requirements in the health and benefits sector. - Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather and refine testing requirements. - Familiarity with insurance industry terminology and concepts.
