The Lead Analytics & Visualization Operations Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and sustainment of operational analytics dashboards and websites that provide mission-critical insights for NGA executives and leadership. This role ensures the operational continuity and effectiveness of visualization solutions, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
As a Lead member of the team, this individual will supervise a small, growing team while also performing hands-on development, maintenance, and analysis of data visualization solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep expertise in analytics, visualization technologies, and IT service operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance on analytics, visualization, and operations support.
- Oversee workload distribution, ensuring timely project completion and operational support.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Collect, condition, and analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
- Utilize advanced analytics tools to provide real-time, meaningful visualizations for IT service and operations management.
- Ensure the accuracy and integration of data sources, maintaining high-quality outputs for leadership decision-making.
- Oversee the sustainment and management of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and data content sources.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to operational analytics dashboards and websites.
- Implement best practices for data security, governance, and compliance within visualization tools.
- Provide superior customer service to internal stakeholders, ensuring visualization solutions meet mission needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine analytics and visualization capabilities.
- Develop user documentation and training materials to enhance the adoption and usability of analytics tools.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma with GED equivalent, 10+ years of relevant experience OR:
- Associate’s degree and 6+ years’ experience OR:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years’ experience
- Relevant experience in the following:
- Analytics
- Visual Operations
- Data Collection
- Experience in the Intelligence Community
- TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain CI poly
- Successfully pass background and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading or mentoring technical teams supporting enterprise analytics, data visualization, or IT operations.
- Experience developing operational dashboards using tools such as Grafana, Power BI, Tableau, Kibana, or similar analytics and visualization platforms.
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages to automate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Department of Defense (DoD), or other Intelligence Community (IC) organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
- Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
- Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
- Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
- Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
