Job PurposeThe Lead Analyst plays a critical role in the oversight, analysis, and reporting of the New England Electric Capital Portfolio. This position provides forward-looking insights into portfolio performance, identifies emerging risks and opportunities, and supports leadership in making informed decisions.
Key Accountabilities- Lead portfolio performance reporting and analytics for the NE Electric Capital Portfolio, providing both in-year and multi-year perspectives on investment delivery, capital spend, and portfolio outcomes.
- Deliver transparent and insightful analysis of portfolio performance, clearly articulating the drivers, implications, and recommended actions associated with underperformance, overperformance, risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
- Develop and continuously improve portfolio reporting, dashboards, and governance to enhance transparency, consistency, and decision-making across the organization.
- Present information in a dynamic, visually compelling manner that enables stakeholders at all levels to quickly understand key performance insights and required actions.
- Provide constructive challenge to assumptions, forecasts, and performance narratives while fostering strong relationships across the business.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience, if applicable).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or planning.
- Proven experience in portfolio performance analysis, business analytics, financial reporting, or capital investment oversight, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify performance trends, risks, opportunities, and root causes, while developing practical recommendations to support decision-making.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively, engage senior leaders, and mentor and develop team members.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines, and develop clear, visually compelling reports and presentations.
- Proficiency in MS Office required and PowerBI preferred.
