Full Job Description
The Lead Advisor Leads and manages advisory support team members while overseeing client relationships and delivering financial planning, investment analysis, recommendations, and trade execution under senior oversight to drive client service excellence, retention, and growth.
What You'll Do:
• Own the client relationship as primary point of contact. Build and deepen trust and drive retention, expansion of wallet share and referrals.
• Lead investment strategy for clients: Investment Committee participation, portfolio management, and investment proposals.
• Own the financial plan and its delivery to the client. Planning execution runs through the advisory support team.
• Own the client experience and the tools that power it: CRM, planning software, and client-facing technology.
• Lead and manage the advisory support roles. Set clear expectations, manage to them, and hold the team accountable.
• Put the client first in every recommendation, even when it is the harder path. Know the details of their life and goals, and lead every interaction with empathy.
• Own the client's outcome, not just the meeting, guiding them towards their wealth goals. Actively assess risks and opportunities to anticipate client or firm needs.
• Bring real depth to planning and investments, creating tailored strategies for diverse client needs. Maintain high advice quality, and keep sharpening your skillset as markets and planning evolve.
• Ask the questions that uncover what the client truly needs. Understand before you advise, and adopt tools and ideas that serve clients better.
• Lead the Service Advisors and advisory support team with clarity and respect. Share credit, communicate openly, and put client and firm success ahead of personal glory.
What You Bring:
• 5+ years in a client-facing advisory or wealth management role.
• Required licenses/registrations: Series 7, Series 66 or equivalent; CFP®
• Strong financial planning experience and knowledge of investment management principles and portfolio oversight.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or directing support staff.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills to engage clients and represent the firm effectively.
• Ability to travel to Richmond, VA area, as needed for client events; open to hire in Reston VA or Rockville, MD.
