Full Job Description
The Lead Accountant will report to and work directly with the Accounting Manager. The individual will have a team of direct reports and will focus on payroll, leases, and Travel and Expense.
You will:
- Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
- Analyze and explain financial results through the completion of monthly fluxes
- Summarize findings and make recommendations to leadership
- Prepare and maintain documentation to support SOX and financial statement audit requests
- Work directly with external auditors to provide appropriate documentation and explanations for audit requests.
- Collaborate with the broader accounting team and assist with general ledger, financial reporting, and miscellaneous accounting tasks as assigned.
- Develop and support relationships with business partners.
- Actively identify opportunities for process improvement or operational automation in existing system infrastructure.
- Special Projects: We are a growing company so you will have opportunities to work on special projects
You have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years' of accounting experience with experience as a mentor to junior team members
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- A strong sense of ownership, initiative and solution-oriented mindset.
- Organized and thorough with ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
You have an advantage if you have:
- Familiarity with Netsuite as an ERP.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Possess a collaborative spirit.
- Mixture of public accounting and private industry experience.
Salary Range: $95,000-$100,000
In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
