Full Job Description
Title: Landscape Designer

Location: Washington - Seattle

Job Type: Regular Full-Time

Anchor QEA is seeking a Landscape Architect/Designer with 1 to 3 years of experience in landscape architecture, environmental consulting, restoration design, and environmental planning. This position offers the opportunity to support projects at multiple stages of design, planning, and implementation while working directly with mid and senior level landscape architects and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and planners.

The position will support projects that improve ecological function, public access, biodiversity, and resilience. Projects range in size and type and can include coastal, riverine, and wetland habitat restoration, parks and open space, trails, and mitigation. The successful candidate may also interact with clients, members of the public, and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site analysis, design research to support conceptual design and design development.
  • Develop 2D plan and section renderings.
  • Develop diagrams to communicate technical information and design thinking.
  • Develop 3D axonometric and perspective renderings.
  • Develop presentation materials and graphic packages for clients, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Support the preparation of construction document packages, including drawings, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates with oversight and direction.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, meeting documentation, design research summaries, reports, and sections of reports.
  • Support the preparation of environmental review and permitting documents with oversight and direction.
  • Support construction-phase services, including site visits, field documentation, submittal and RFI review, and other construction management tasks with oversight and direction.
  • Support ecological field work, land planning, land use analysis, and related research.
  • Conduct fieldwork at project sites in varying terrain and weather conditions, which may occasionally require travel and early or late hours
  • Participate in interdisciplinary project teams and coordinate with landscape architects, engineers, scientists, and planners.
  • Assist with quality control reviews of project documents.
  • Participate in public, client, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Travel to project sites and conduct field work, which may occasionally require early or late hours.


What Are We Looking For?

Ideal candidates will have the following:
  • A bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited institution; a master's degree is preferred.
  • One to three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Familiarity and interest in ecological design, restoration design, and multi-benefit planning for natural resource and community needs.
  • Strong graphic communication and design skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare concise technical documents as well as longer reports or report sections.
  • Basic understanding of environmental regulations and permitting.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Lumion, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Graphic and writing samples provided as part of the interview process.

Salary and Other Compensation:
  • Salary Range: $78,120-$86,908
  • Annual Bonus
  • Other potential bonus types: Billable Time Bonus, Spot Bonus, Milestone Anniversary Bonus, Receiving Professional License/Certification Bonus, Peer-reviewed Publication Bonus, Employee Referral Bonus.


Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
